Big Springs is an interesting site. Date of experience: July 2020. Most campgrounds are now open but the status of this campground has not been verified recently by other RVers. There are several sites that are level enough for RVs/trailers, some not so much. Don’t know the GPS coordinates but it is on mount Hopkins Road just 30 minutes from green valley. No hookups of any kind, but there are (OK) pit toilets in the "restrooms" that will suffice. The climb up the hill on the main road is not too steep, but the winding road up to the site is a little tight in two spots. I think there were 6 other sites that could handle camper vans, tents, truck campers, shorter TT's, and smaller motorhomes. We hiked two pretty tough trails (your choice is steep at the start or steep at the end) on two mornings, and saw the Elegant Trogan in the picnic area not far from the trail start. We stayed in site 7 which is on a corner so a little harder to pull into if you had a longer vehicle but it was a great site. Bog Springs Trail is a moderate out and back hike 3 miles long and with an elevation gain of 922 feet. Many visit the Santa Rita Mountains for hiking and climbing, and mountain bikers can definitely look forward to a challenge with this peak! Only problem with this site is you have to hike around the built up site to get to the picnic table, fire rig etc. There was one vault toilet for men and women (with no lights so bring a flash light at night ;) ).
